Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar, a strong contender for the post of the CM, on Monday conveyed warm congratulations to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is creating a record tomorrow (Tuesday) of completing a long tenure in CM's office.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday expressed confidence that he would complete his full term, an assertion that comes amid speculations of a mid-term change in leadership.

Siddaramaiah, however, added a caveat that the final decision rests with the AICC leadership, while speaking to the media in Mysuru.

On Tuesday, he broke Devaraj Urs’s record to emerge as the longest serving CM of Karnataka. The 78-year-old Mysuru-born leader is serving as CM for a second time after serving his first five-year term beginning 2013.

On CM being confident of completing his full five-year term, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, who has been waiting in the wings to succeed Siddaramaiah, said: “I wish him all the best. Good luck.” Shivakumar did not elaborate much on the subject.
