Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah not to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in

According to the schedule released by the Chief Minister's office for tomorrow, Siddaramaih will be attending several programmes in the city.

BANGALORE: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah heading the Congress Government in Karnataka will not attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in as Prime Minister in Delhi tomorrow.

"The Chief Minister will not be going to Delhi tomorrow," official sources said, but gave no reason.

According to the schedule released by the Chief Minister's office for tomorrow, Siddaramaih will be attending several programmes in the city.

Wishing Modi all the best, Siddaramaih had last week hoped of cooperation from the Center adding that irrespective of party affiliations the Union government should work in accordance with the Constitution and respect the federal set up.

Election Commission had admonished Siddaramaiah for using a "derogatory" word against Modi during campaigning in the state.

Siddaramaiah, while campaigning in Mysore on March 23, had called Modi a "Narahantaka" (mass murderer).
