Karnataka CM sanctions Rs 25,000 relief to youth

The Karnataka CM has sanctioned Rs 25000 to a youth who tried to breach the security at the venue of the BJP National Executive meeting to relate his plight and seek help for surgery.

BANGALORE: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Friday sanctioned Rs 25,000 to a youth who tried to breach the security at the venue of the BJP National Executive meeting to relate his plight and seek help for surgery.

Mahesh, a first-year BA student of the Jain College, was detained by the security staff when he tried to sneak into the Hotel Chancery Pavillion to meet CM to submit his petition.

However, he was let off after he narrated his story. Yeddyurapa, who learnt about the incident, sanctioned Rs 25,000 immediately.

Mahesh had injured his legs two years ago in an accident and needed surgery to remove the steel rods implanted into his bones. Earlier, he had received an assistance of Rs 5,000 during the Governor's rule in the state, sources said.
