The CM and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will hear the opinions of Congress lawmakers on how to deal with the crisis arising out of the sanction and to counter the BJP's campaign against the chief minister and the party.
The CLP, sources say, has been planned to help Siddaramaiah get a formal reassurance from his MLA colleagues about their continued faith in his leadership. Such a gesture would also give a dose of confidence to the Chief Minister to take on the Opposition BJP and JDS even more vigorously, sources said.
The Cabinet is also expected to meet later where it may pass a resolution urging the Governor to quickly respond to the requests for prosecution the Lokayukta special investigation team (SIT) has sought against union minister HD Kumaraswamy, and BJP leaders Shashikala Jolle and Murugesh Nirani for their alleged acts of omission and commission while in power.
