Karnataka BJP rebel BJ Puttaswamy's nomination papers for Rajya Sabha election rejected

Puttaswamy's nomination papers for the March 30 Rajya Sabha election have been rejected for violation of the office of profit clause.

BANGALORE: Karnataka BJP rebel candidate BJ Puttaswamy's nomination papers for the March 30 Rajya Sabha election have been rejected for violation of the office of profit clause, an election official said on Wednesday.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly secretary P Omprakasha, who is also the returning officer for the election, said that he had passed an order to this effect.

Though Puttaswamy, who was political secretary to the chief minister, had resigned from the post two days ago, it was accepted only on Wednesday, thereby attracting the office of profit clause.
