Karnataka BJP MLA faces serious allegations of rape in multiple locations including Vidhana Soudha and govt car
A woman has accused BJP MLA N Munirathna Naidu of rape and coercion in a honey-trap scheme. She alleged the incidents occurred in multiple locations, including Vidhan Soudha and his government car. The Karnataka government has ordered an SIT probe...

Munirathna, the MLA from RR Nagar constituency, is currently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), after previously being arrested for allegedly threatening a contractor and violating the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
However, the BJP legislator has denied all the accusations, calling them false, PTI reported.
The complaint, lodged by a woman activist at the Kaggalipura Police Station, further accuses Munirathna of taking her to a godown he owns in Mutyalanagara, where she was allegedly raped. According to the complaint, the act was recorded, and Munirathna used the video to blackmail her. Additionally, the woman alleged that the MLA coerced her into setting up honey traps at private resorts, PTI mentioned. She claimed Munirathna’s six associates, including his gunman, aided in blackmailing and threatening her with explicit videos recorded by the MLA.
The case has led to political tensions. After allegations surfaced that the MLA raped the woman in his office at Vikasa Soudha, Congress leaders, led by Manohar, performed a purification ritual at the gates of Vikasa Soudha. According to PTI, Manohar criticised the authorities for detaining him and other Congress members, while allowing BJP members to protest without interference.
The Karnataka government has ordered an SIT probe into the allegations, according to PTI.
