Karnataka Bandh Live Updates: Schools, offices shut, protesters demand Centre's intervention in Mahadayi dispute

Several Kannada and farmers outfit have called for a statewide bandh in Karnataka demanding Centre's intervention in the Mahadayi river water dispute.

In view of the ongoing Mahadayi river dispute between Goa and Katrnataka, several pro-Kannada and farmer outfits have called for shutdown in Karnataka today.

The outfits supporting the call for bandh are demanding that the Centre intervene in the dispute and resolve it immediately.

Private schools and government offices are expected to remain closed today in view of the safety of school children. Wipro has declared a holiday for its employees today as a precautionary measure on account of Karnataka bandh, according to ANI.


The state government has deployed police personnel to maintain law and order situation. Public transport is expected to ply normally along with private cabs.
