DIPHU: Militant outfit KPLT Chairman Botcha Bey alias Bijoy Terang (28) was shot dead allegedly by his colleague at Rongnihand in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, police said today.
The Karbi Peoples Liberation Tigers (KPLT) chief was suspected to have been killed by his Finance Secretary in his house last night, Superintendent of Police Mukdhya Jyoti Mahanta said.
About seven months ago, KPLT had split into three factions with the main part headed by Botcha operating in West Karbi Anglong district, Mahanta said.
Botcha was, however, scheduled to surrender with 20 odd members, he said.
