Karavaan: Celebration for a cause
Karavaan is happening at St Mary’s ICSE School, Mazagaon, on Saturday, December 15, 6.30 pm onwards.
It’s heartening to note that one motivated bunch of Mumbai’s professionals decided to take a step in the right direction. This team, many of them IIT alumni, MBA graduates and industry veterans, are putting together an event ‘Karavaan’ that promises to be a magical evening by donating towards a special cause—the education of less privileged children. Organising and executing an event can sometimes be child’s play—as proven by the team of children who’ve put the show together. The kids will put up talented performances and be joined by eminent artists on stage. Together, they promise to enthrall an audience of 1,500 people while raising funds through ticket sales and donations.
The event is the brainchild of a team of young professionals who want to do more with their lives than just number-crunching and hitting targets. Research director Nitika Garg, IIT engineer Rachit Garg, ad professional Shilpa Mehta, musician Ojhas Bhatt, dancer Minal Ambavat, HR consultant Renu Goyal and soft skills trainer Manika Jain—this motley crew has conceptualised the unique endeavour. By supporting Karavaan, you’re not only aiding the less fortunate in society, but are also encouraging the children on stage. So, what’s in store? Classical music performances, rib-tickling standup comedy and even professionally choreographed dances will certainly make this an evening to remember.
