'Kanwarias' disrupt traffic in Ambala

AMBALA: Traffic was disrupted on the Ambala-Delhi GT road near the city as a large number of 'Kanwarias' blockaded the road to protest alleged misbehavior of a petrol pump employee this evening.

Traffic was restored after half-an-hour following intervention by the police.

Sources said an altercation occurred between a petrol pump employee and an office bearer of a Kanwaria camp over the price of petrol.

The office bearer alleged that employees of the petrol pump misbehaved with him. The Kanwarias staying in the camp rushed to the petrol pump and blockaded the road.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh reached the spot and the blockade was lifted after both parties reached a compromise.
