Kanhaiya Kumar flays comrades over Singur land grab
Taking a dig at his senior comrades, Kanhaiya asked how CPM leaders forged an alliance with Congress whom they used to call imperialists.

“Whatever happened in Singur and Nandigarm was wrong. Farmers are not against industry. They want to give land, but they want something in return too. We all know that we need industry and we cannot survive on farming. But, land cannot be snatched from somebody without his consent. We do not want to see the son of a farmer becoming a farmer. Similarly, we do not want to see the farmer standing at the gate of a factory as the guard. Let the company make the farmer a stakeholder there,“ Kanhaiya Kumar told a students' conference organised by the AISF, the stu dents' wing of the CPI.
Criticising the CPM-Congress alliance in Bengal, he said, “I want to ask a question standing in Bengal. When the first general election in India took place, the Communist Party of India stood against Congress as opponent. How did that opponent become so weak? Earlier, the comrades used to tell that Congress were agents of imperialism. I want to ask my comrades, did Congress change? Whose agents are they now? How could you forge an electoral alliance with Congress in Bengal?
How did you compromise on your ideology?“ Besides, he raised his pitch against the RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Comparing Modi with Donald Trump, he said, “There is a little difference between Trump and Modi. Trump is fatter than Modi, and both speak different languages---English and Hindi.“
Launching a scathing attack against RSS, he said, “RSS called Muslims traitors. But the first assassination in the country was done by whom? They killed Gandhi.“
