Kamatapur Liberation Organisation chief Jibon Singh alive, anti-talk ULFA

Anti-talk ULFA's commander in chief, Paresh Baruah, called up a local new channel in Guwahati and claimed that Singh was alive.

GUWAHATI: Anti-talk ULFA militants have claimed that Jibon Singh, the elusive chief of the Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), was alive. There were speculations that Singh had died in the army's June 4 strike along the Myanmar border.

Anti-talk ULFA's commander in chief, Paresh Baruah, called up a local new channel in Guwahati and claimed that Singh was alive.

KLO is believed to have suffered heavily in the latest strike. It had faced severe damage in 2003 as well, when Indian and Bhutanese armies overrun camps of Indian insurgents in Bhutan.

Assam Director General of Police Khagen Sarma said the state police had no information on this regard. "No bodies have come to Guwahati Medical College and hospital and no DNA test has been done," he said.
