Kamal Hassan, Mary Kom Election Comission’s poll ambassadors

Chennai: Just as actor Aamir Khan has been roped in by the Election Commission to promote ethical voting across India , Tamil Nadu’s chief electoral officer Praveen Kumar has enlisted actor Kamal Hassan as the state’s poll ambassador. The actor, along with Olympian boxer Mary Kom, squash player Deepika Pallikal and cricketer Dinesh Karthik can be seen on the CEO’s YouTube and Facebook pages, urging people in Tamil and English, not to fall prey to money.

With Tamil Nadu catching the attention of people across the country and abroad on money for votes since the 2009 Thirumangalam byelection, the CEO is determined this time around to at least minimize the influence of money in elections.
