Kamal Haasan's remark on 'Kannada' sparks row: 'I'm proud to be a Tamilian, but...', says BJP's Tamilisai Soundararajan

Kamal Haasan triggered a massive row ahead of his film Thug Life's release, claiming that "Kannada was born out of Tamil". Kamal Haasan's remark triggered outrage across Karnataka. While DMK supported Haasan, the BJP has hit back. "I'm proud to be a Tamilian, but at the same time, I'm a proud Indian. Whenever we express our views about our language, we must be very careful. Tamil is our mother tongue, and for others, their language is their mother tongue. The DMK is more interested in divisive politics, especially when it comes to politicising language issues," BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan said.
