NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of disgraced former chairman of Commonwealth Games OC Suresh Kalmadi and other officials till July 21 for their alleged involvement in irregularities in conducting the games.

Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh also asked the Tihar jail authority to explore the possibility of transporting them to court in separate jail vans after they expressed fear of being attacked by fellow undertrials.

Kalmadi and the four co-accused -- former OC secretary general Lalit Bhanot, former director general V K Verma and officials M Jaychandran, Surjit Lal and ASV Prasad-- currently lodged in Tihar jail said they apprehend they may be attacked by other undertrials in the jail van while travelling between jail and court.

The court also allowed Kalmadi's plea for medical examination and treatment.

Meanwhile, Swiss firm Swiss Timing, which was allegedly illegaly granted TSR contract refrained from complying with the court's order, saying summons were not served in accordance with the treaty between the two countries.

Counsel for Swiss Timing, one of the eleven accused in the TSR (Timing, Scoring, Result) system scam, said that the summons issued to it by the court should have been served through appropiate authority in the Swiss government and not through post and the same has been conveyed to the Indian government through the Indian embassy.
