Welcoming Scindia, Nadda said that his grandmother Raj Mata had contributed immensely to Jan Sangh.
In an apparent dig at Congress, Nadda said that BJP is a democratic party, and that Scindia will get an opportunity to participate in various activities of the party. In his speech, Scindia said that he is sad about Congress' present situation.
Congress, he said, is not what it used to be and that it is not ready to face reality.
Scindia also slammed the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh for not fulfilling its promise of farm loan waiver and other promises it had made in the election manifesto.
The four-time MP from Guna also praised prime minister Narendra Modi. India's future is fully secure under Modi's leadership, he said.
Scindia had resigned from Congress yesterday alleging marginalisation in the grand-old party. He is expected to be nominated by the BJP for Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Some even say that he could be inducted as a minister in the BJP-led central government.
