Jyotiraditya Scindia aide jailed under National Security Act

SHIVPURI: An aide of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh has been arrested under provisions of the stringent National Security Act (NSA), police said here.

Anil Sharma alias 'Anni' is the Union Minister of State for Power's aide in Shivpuri district, police said.

Anni, who was wanted by the police for his involvement in various criminal cases, surrendered before police yesterday before being placed under arrest and sent to jail.

Police said that following the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the polls, efforts were intensified to nab those wanted in criminal cases and against whom warrants were pending.

Shivpuri DSP MS Sikarwar had recommended action against Anni under NSA after which District Collector RK Jain issued orders allowing the same.

A total of 19 criminal cases, including those involving murder, were registered against Anni, police added.
