NEW DELHI: Justice Santosh Hegde, who had announced that he may quit from the joint drafting committee on Lokpal Bill following allegations against its members, will continue in the high level panel.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the civil society activists led by Anna Hazare.

"The committee resolved that Hegde will continue," said Kiran Bedi after the meeting of the civil society activists, which was also attended by Hazare, Swami Agnivesh, Arvind Kejriwal and others.

Bedi said a decision was also taken to write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Supreme Court Chief Justice S H Kapadia to conduct any high level inquiry on allegations against any of the members of the panel.

Hegde, who felt "hurt" on certain statements made by Congress leader Digvijay Singh, had earlier threatened to quit the panel.
