Junior archers win twin gold in Asian Grand Prix
India's junior archers won seven medals, including two gold, in both individual and team events at Tehran, Iran.
"Junior Jharkhand archers, representing the Indian Team, won two gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the event," said Sanjeeva Singh, Coach Incharge, National Camp, said in a press release issued here today.
The Championship, which was held during June 12-16, saw some stupendous performance from both the men and women team.
Rajib Basumatary bagged the bronze medal in the Recurve men division and then joined his team comprising A Raju, Somnath Mandal, and Nayan Moni Nath to win the gold medal.
Among the women, Pratima Boro became the Recurve Women Champion and claimed the yellow metal, while V Pranitha settled for a silver. The duo then joined Rimil Biruly to win the silver medal in the team event.
In the Compound Men, section the team of Deepak Karmakar, Sanjay Swansi and Nikon Singh bagged bronze, while the women team -- Sweety Kumari, Suman lata Murmu, Namita Yadav and Asrita Kerketta -- bagged the silver medal.
