'Jungle raj' in UP, will send team to assess situation: BJP
NEW DELHI: BJP today said the law and order in UP is going from bad to worse and the party will send a team of its office-bearers to assess the situation in the state where it charged that people are living in " jungle raj".

BJP President Amit Shah has taken a decision to this effect and a team will be sent to the state very soon, party secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

"The law and order in the state is going from bad to worse and it is very much a 'jungle raj'. The team will go to UP and present a report to the party," he said.

Referring to the recent cases of crimes in which a woman died at a police station in Barabanki and a journalist was allegedly set on fire by cops, Sharma said, the state government was protecting those guilty as no proper action was being taken.

"It is bizarre that the journalist in his dying declaration named a UP minister but Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is instead protecting him. The chief minister's office has become a refuse for criminals," Sharma said.
