JSW fiasco last nail in West Bengal's industrial dream: Manas Bhuniya
JSW Steel has put its West Bengal steel and power plant on hold over uncertainty of raw material linkages for the proposed Rs 35,000 crore project.

"After the Singur fiasco, the Jindal steel plant being put on hold due to uncertainty over availability of raw materials is a last nail in the coffin of the state's industrial ambitions. Both the state and the central government should intervene to solve the problem," Bhuniya told reporters here.

"We have put the project on hold. Without raw material (coal and iron-ore) it is very difficult to go ahead with the project," JSW Steel chairman and managing director Sajjan Jindal said a few days ago.
"The Chief Minister should have taken steps to see if any alternative measures could be taken to solve the problem," Bhuniya added.
