JSCA wants Keenan stadium from Tata Steel by Thursday
Over the availibility of Keenan Stadium for Nov 23 India-England one-dayer, the Jharkhand Cricket Association gave an ultimatum to the Tata Steel, as it has not handedover to them yet.
"If we do not get a response from them (Tata Steel) about the handing over of the stadium by tomorrow noon, we'll let the Board know about the unavailibility of the ground," a JSCA official said after their Managing Committee meeting.
A JSCA delegation had earlier met East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ravindra Agarwal seeking the intervention of the district administration.
Though JSCA had sent a letter to Tata Steel urging it to hand over the ground, no response was received as yet. Another letter was forwarded to the steel major on Wednesday, he said.
Tata Steel sources had earlier admitted it received the letter from JSCA over making the ground available for the ODI.
"Unless the authorities were convinced that the ground was safe enough to host the ODI, the ground cannot be made available," the sources said said.
"We cannot wait any longer as time is running out for preparation," said the JSCA official adding at least three months were required to prepare the wickets and for the facelift of the stadium.
