JP's disciples sitting in Congress lap: Amit Shah while taking aim at Nitish Kumar
"Throughout his life, JP fought for principles and not power. JP fought the Congress. However, people who claim to be his disciples have changed sides five times to remain in power and are now in Congress lap," Shah said.

"Throughout his life, JP fought for principles and not power. JP fought the Congress. However, people who claim to be his disciples have changed sides five times to remain in power and are now in Congress lap," Shah said. He said that PM Modi had been 'working to fulfil JP's vision of total revolution'. "PM Modi has alleviated the lives of 60 crores people of the country in the last eight years and has provided employment opportunities and enriched their lives," Shah claimed. It is for the people of Bihar to decide whether they want a BJP government, under the leadership of Modi, who 'follows the path shown by JP' or a government of those who 'deviated from his path' for power.
Shah unveiled a statue of JP in his village. Part of Sitab Diara village falls in UP and CM Yogi Adityanath too was present at the meeting. Others present included Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Jaiswal, Union minister of state Nityanand Rai and other senior state leaders. Shah later visited Varanasi for a meeting of BJP's workers of Kashi region.
Shah has been personally monitoring political developments in Bihar after his party lost power when Kumar quit NDA and rejoined the RJD-Congress alliance. Tuesday's was Shah's second trip to Bihar in less than a month.
On a 2-day trip to Seemanchal last month, he visited Purnia and Kishanganj districts. Sitab Diara falls in Saran district bordering UP. BJP has a strong presence in neighbouring districts of Chhapra, Gopalganj and Saran. According to BJP insiders, Shah is expected to visit Bihar every month to address a public meeting and take stock of the partys preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
