JPC is on all 3 issues: NDA

The Opposition revisited its demand for a JPC probe into the organising of the Commonwealth Games and Adarsh Housing controversy.

NEW DELHI: With the government rejecting Opposition’s demand for a joint parliamentary committee to probe the 2G spectrum allocation, the Opposition revisited its demand for a JPC probe into the organising of the Commonwealth Games and Adarsh Housing controversy.

National Democratic Alliance convenor Sharad Yadav insisted that the demand for JPC was not only to look into the 2G spectrum allocation but also to probe the Commonwealth Games mess and Adarsh Housing Society irregularities. "There are three issues involved in our JPC demand. These include 2G spectrum allocation, Adarsh Housing Society scam and Commonwealth Games corruption. Our stress on JPC to probe 2G should not be misconstrued. It's not that we have left the other two issues. We are demanding JPC for all three," Yadav told reporters here.

Yadav’s comments came a day after he had maintained that if the government accepted the JPC demand, NDA was open to holding a special session of Parliament to complete pending business in both Houses. The Opposition has blocked proceedings in Parliament demanding a JPC to probe into the 2G spectrum allocation.

Terming it as "the biggest scam in the country," Yadav said the CWG scam was similar in nature and alleged that the government was focussing only on small fries in the Games irregularities.
