JPC chief PC Chacko asks Manish Tewari to refrain from leaking letters to media
NEW DELHI: After a disagreement between JPC chairperson PC Chacko and panel member Manish Tewari over summoning AG Goolam Vahanvati as a witness, a miffed Chacko has told the Congress MP to be discreet about expressing difference of opinion and refrain from leaking letters to the media.

However, a leader close to Tewari said he was surprised that such an averment had been made. He said media reports had appeared even before Tewari had received reply.

Tewari had written to Chacko last month pointing out that AG's relationship with the ministries was that of an advocate and client and he should not be held responsible for the decision of the government on 2G.

Tewari had quoted a recent SC judgment in CBI versus Narayana Rao case that no lawyer should be held accountable for the implications of a legal opinion given to a client, in the same manner in which a doctor is not guilty unless negligence or criminal intent is proven.
