Nadda on Friday directed party MLAs to go all out during the people connect programme and listen to their grievances. He also gave a clear message to the Bengal leadership that no one will talk flouting party rules and speak on separatism and division of Bengal. The closed-door meeting was attended by state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, national vice-president Dilip Ghosh and leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari among others.
Nadda told the MLAs and leaders to visit nooks and corners of their constituencies at least for five days a month and review the situation on the ground. "If people are not getting public services, MLAs should meet district magistrates and police superintendents and if need be take legal help as well in extreme situations and even resort to organising movements," a senior BJP leader told ET. Bringing changes in the organisational structure, BJP is likely to introduce anchal (area) committees instead of the existing mandal committees, sources said.
Every booth will have 20 members and there will be one person in charge of booth workers. The strengthening of the booths is the main focus of the party with an eye towards panchayat polls and as part of the national plan.
