NEW DELHI: Health Minister JP Nadda today reviewed the facilities for treatment of dengue patients in major central government hospitals including AIIMS, Safdarjung and Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.

The Health Minister reviewed the status of adequacy of diagnostic test kits and other facilities in these hospitals and asked them to submit the status report on dengue on a daily basis.

He also went to Sucheta Kriplani hospital and Kalawati Saran hospitals under Lady Hardinge Hospital to monitor the situation.

"It was informed that 260 beds are exclusively designated for dengue patients in Safdarjung Hospital while 110 beds are earmarked in RML which comprises 70 beds for adults and 40 for paediatrics. In addition, 93 beds in Sucheta Kriplani hospital and 70 beds Kalawati Saran hospital have been allotted for these patients," a senior ministry official said.

At AIIMS, in addition to the Medicine, Pediatrics and Emergency wards, every ward will have two beds designated for dengue patients, he said.
