JP Nadda slams Rahul Gandhi over INDIA bloc rally, accusing Congress of attempting to create unrest, destabilise the elected government and disrupt business during the festive season.
Union Minister JP Nadda on Sunday accused the Congress and Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create unrest and destabilise an elected government, criticising the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.

Calling the rally a "well-planned conspiracy to hand over democracy to anarchy", Nadda described it as an "orchestrated drama" by leaders who had been repeatedly rejected by the public.

In a series of remarks, Nadda alleged that the Opposition's political approach involved spreading rumours, creating unrest on the streets, hurting the country's economy and attempting to destabilise an elected government at the behest of foreign powers.

He also accused Rahul Gandhi of using the November 1 rally to target the elected government in Delhi, disrupt business activity during the festive season and defame the country.

"Rahul Gandhi, this is India, not a banana republic where you can unleash arson, incite riots and pursue a regime-change agenda whenever you wish," Nadda said, adding that India was the world's oldest and strongest democracy.

Nadda also invoked the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, calling November 1 one of the darkest days in India's democratic history. He alleged that thousands of Sikhs were killed and families displaced during the violence, while several women were widowed.

Referring to Delhi's Widow Colony, Nadda said it continued to bear witness to the violence and accused the Gandhi family of not having sincerely apologised to the Sikh community.

He further alleged that the Congress was using the rally to reopen wounds within the Sikh community and create an atmosphere of unrest in Delhi during the festive season.

The remarks came as Opposition leaders gathered at Ramlila Maidan for the INDIA bloc rally, raising concerns over voting rights and accusing the Centre of obstructing protesters.
