'Jo karega jaat ki baat, usko kass ke marunga laat', Nitin Gadkari rejects caste-based politics
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari delivered a powerful message about equality and his refusal to engage in caste-based politics at the Convocation ceremony of the Central India Group of Institutions in Nagpur on Saturday.

The BJP leader noted that a person's worth should be judged by their qualities, not their caste, religion, language, or gender.

"A person is not known by their caste, sect, religion, language or sex, but only by their qualities. That is why we will not discriminate against anyone based on caste, sect, religion, language, or sex," he said, addressing the event.

Despite the fact that caste often plays a significant role in Indian politics, Gadkari remained firm in his stance, vowing not to engage in caste-based politics, even if it cost him votes. He noted that he avoids discussing religion and caste in public discourse, as he believes people value "service to society" above all else.

"Jo karega jaat ki baat, usko kass ke marunga laat," he reaffirmed, recalling his statement from the previous election campaign.

While he said some of his friends advised against such statements, fearing it would harm his political career, Gadkari stood by his principles, declaring, "One does not lose his life if he loses elections. I will stick to my principles."

Gadkari also spoke about the importance of education in transforming communities, recounting how, as an MLC, he transferred permission for an engineering college to Anjuman-e-Islam in Nagpur because he believed "they needed it more."

He stressed that access to education could help elevate entire communities, citing the example of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam as a testament to how education can empower individuals and bring progress.
