JMM withdrawal hasty: Madhu Koda

RANCHI : Terming the JMM's withdrawal of support to his government as "hasty", Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda on Monday evening expressed the hope that a solution to the present political crisis was still possible.

"The monsoon session of the assembly has been convened from September 19...I am still hopeful of finding a solution to the present situation," Koda said when asked what would be his next step.

"I am continuing as the chief minister and my government is not in a minority," he said when asked whether he was heading a minority government after the JMM submitted the letter to the Governor Syed Sibtey Razi withdrawing support this evening.

Stating that it would have been better had Soren placed his demands or grievances in the UPA meeting, Koda said he would speak to the central UPA leadership on the development.

The UPA government in Jharkhand was formed after all the allies including RJD, Congress and the independents extended support.

Deputy chief minister Stephen Marandi, welfare minister Joba Manjhi, urban development minister Harinarain Rai, rural development minister Enos Ekka and water resources minister Kamlesh Singh were present during Koda's interaction with the media.
