JMM leaders to meet on Sunday in Ranchi
A crucial meeting of theJharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders will be held in Ranchi on Sunday to decide which way the five party MPs would vote in the confidence motion in Lok Sabha.
Though JMM is an ally of the UPA, it is still not clear whether it will support the government or not as the party has kept its stand a closely guarded secret so far.
In the back drop of the JMM unhappy over non-inclusion of its party chief Sibu Soren in the union council of ministers, even after he came clear in a murder case, party MPs would discuss whether to vote for UPA or not during the confidence motion in view of the "injustice" to Soren.
Party Secretary Dilip Chatterjee, who is a close confidant of Soren, said the decision on support to the government on the nuclear deal issue would be taken after seeking views of all five Lok Sabha members in the meeting to be chaired by Soren.
The JMM leaders would also hold a meeting here next week.
Expressing displeasure over non-inclusion of Soren in the ministry, Chatterjee rued, "Soren who was instrumental in victory of 13 MPs of UPA from Jharkhand was not treated well in UPA. We got a raw deal in UPA. Now they want to talk to us as they are in need".
Party MP and General Secretary Hem Lal Murmu who represented JMM at yesterday's UPA meeting has already gone on record that attending the meeting should not be construed as the party supporting the confidence motion.
