JKCA scam: Rebel group levels fresh charges
SRINAGAR: A day after Jammu and Kashmir High Court directed CBI to investigate the multi-crore scam in J and K Cricket Association, the rebel group of the cricket body today claimed an office bearer of the previous association headed by Farooq Abdullah had swindled money.

"We came to know about this massive swindle four days ago. We were planning to lodge an FIR but since the High Court has handed over the case to CBI we expect that this new revelation will also be part of the probe," Mehboob Iqbal, Chairman of the rebel JKCA group, told reporters.

A division bench of the High Court yesterday directed the CBI to take over the investigation of the multi-crore JKCA scam and complete the probe preferably within six months.

Iqbal welcomed the High Court decision and expressed hope that truth is unveiled in the coming days.
