Srinagar: Political parties across the spectrum in J&K condemned Israel's attack on Iran and questioned the selective silence of the international community. J&K CM Omar Abdullah said the situation will escalate as it has violated the sovereignty of a country and impacted the sentiment of the people.

"Israel termed it a preemptive strike and attacked a country and if the world powers remain silent, it is unfortunate," he said.

Abdullah said Israel did what Russia had done in Ukraine.

Hundreds of Shia muslims protested at several places in J&K and Ladakh condemning Israel's attack on Iran. Former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti said Israel's attack on Iran is yet another brazen act by a state that appears to have gone rogue. Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, while addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jama Masjid said that the attack is highly condemnable.

Mirwaiz said people of J&K stand with the Palestinians and Iranians against Israeli aggression on them.
