KISHTWAR: Prime minister Narendra Modi launched his election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir by accusing the two ruling families of being partners in plundering the state, but stopped short of commenting on Article 370 of the Constitution, which grants a special status to the state.

Modi asserted he lacks any other slogan other than development. “For the past 50 years, you have been hostage to two families and they are in league with each other,” Modi told a huge cheering crowd in the sprawling Chowgan grounds.

For the meeting, the BJP had mobilized its cadres from across Chenab Valley comprising six assembly segments in three districts.
