JK govt to provide jobs to 27,000 unemployed youths

Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to provide jobs to 27,000 unemployed youths in the state this year, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Taj Mohiuddin said on Wednesday.

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to provide jobs to 27,000 unemployed youths in the state this year, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Taj Mohiuddin said on Wednesday.

"Government is planning to provide employment to 27,000 unemployed youths under class four category soon," Mohiuddin said at a meeting in Uri sector.

The government has initiated several development programmes particularly for people residing in far-flung and inaccessible areas of the state, he said.

The government has spent over Rs 150 crore for building infrastructures in the Uri sector, the minister said, adding Rs 30.38 crore have so far been utilised for developing 140 kilometres of road.
