J&K govt release 566 detenues in 3 years

J and K govt has released 566 detenues languishing in different jails during in the past three years.

JAMMU: Recommended by a high level review committee, Jammu and Kashmir government has released 566 detenues languishing in different jails during in the past three years, official sources said.

A review committee comprising joint secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, among others has been constituted under the chairmanship of Financial Commissioner (Home) for periodic review of cases of detenues, the sources said.

In addition, detenues are also released after completion of their detention period through the process of law of court, they said.
