J&K Governor N N Vohra reviews Amarnath Yatra preparations
The Camp Director informed the governor that 216 toilets and 30 baths, along with 11 SASB huts, 500 tents and 80 shops are being set up at the Holy Cave.

The Governor was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), P K Tripathi and General Officer Commanding of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, Lt General Subrata Saha and other senior officials, an official spokesman said.
He said Vohra took stock of the arrangements at the Yatra Camps at Holy Cave for facilitating the Yatris.
The Governor also reviewed the security arrangements being made at the Holy Cave Camp as well as on the routes leading to the Shrine, the spokesman said.
The review covered the arrangements being made for power supply, drinking water facility, telephone connectivity, supply of essential food items, medical facilities, provision of firewood, establishment of Joint Control Room, fire fighting equipments and positioning of Mountain Rescue Teams, he said.

The Governor was informed that power supply, telephones and Automatic Weather Stations of IMD will become functional by June 29.
Camp Director has also been directed by the Governor to ensure cleanliness and effective sanitation within the camp area, the spokesman said, adding, he asked the officials to expeditiously complete snow clearance work along the steps leading to the Holy Cave and provide proper drainage of the snow melt.
