J&K Governor meets Mufti Mohammad Sayeed

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra met Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and discussed various issues concerning the state, including the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra.

"In the course of their extended interaction, the Governor and the Chief Minister discussed various important issues, including matters relating to the forthcoming Amarnathji Yatra," an official spokesman said today.

He said General Officer Commanding of Army's 15 Corps Lt General Subrata Saha also called on the Governor.

"In the hour-long meeting, Lt Gen Saha briefed the Governor about the emerging internal and external security situation and the steps being taken for the smooth conduct of the Yatra," he added.

The annual pilgrimage to the mountain cave hosuing the naturally formed ice-lingam in south Kashmir Himalayas is scheduled to start from July 2 and will conclude on August 29.
