J&K government seals roads to Army HQ

The state government also suspended internet for three days and imposed restrictions in several parts of the Valley to avoid any marches towards the army base.

SRINAGAR: While a complete shutdown was observed in Kashmir for the third consecutive day on Monday, the J&K government sealed all roads leading to Army’s 15 Corps headquarters in Srinagar in wake of joint Hurriyat leadership’s call for march over killings in Pulwama.

The state government also suspended internet for three days and imposed restrictions in several parts of the Valley to avoid any t marches towards the army base. J&K police detained Hurriyat leaders Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Yasin Malik, who attempted to march towards the Army base.

All business establishments and universities remained closed while public transport remained off the roads and attendance in government offices was extremely thin.
