The people of J&K have accepted the BJP and the party is expanding in "all directions", Raina said. "It makes one thing clear, that there will be a BJP government and a BJP chief minister in the UT."
Raina was speaking to reporters outside the Shankaracharya temple on a hillock in Srinagar, where a live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kedarnath was arranged for BJP leaders and workers. The delimitation exercise is ongoing in J&K and the deadline for submission of the report is in March 2022.
The J&K BJP president lashed out at Pakistan for disallowing the use of airspace for the Srinagar-Sharjah flight, inaugurated by home minister Amit Shah during his visit to J&K in October. He said Pakistan could never be a friend or sympathiser of the people of J&K.
"Thousands of people from J&K go to the UAE and Saudi Arabia every year and many more go for Hajj pilgrimage and these direct flights (from Srinagar) were started for their convenience... But Pakistan is the biggest enemy of the people of J&K. It is unfortunate that the country did not allow the use of its airspace," said Raina.
Pakistan's move won't impact the government's decision and flights will still go from Srinagar to Sharjah but taking a longer route now, he said.
