Jinnah causes partition between Jaswant, BJP
Announcing the ouster, party chief Rajnath Singh said, “I had issued a statement on Tuesday dissociating the party from the book.

Jaswants controversial book Jinnah: India, Partition, Independence and an interview in which he described Jinnah as a great man who had been demonized in India , placed him in the line of fire of BJP bosses. Announcing the ouster, party chief Rajnath Singh said, I had issued a statement on Tuesday dissociating the party from the book. Today, I put the matter up to the parliamentary board which decided to end his primary membership.
The move, taken at an emergency meeting of BJPs parliamentary board in Shimla where senior leaders have gathered for a chintan baithak (introspection meeting), was also meant to put a lid as desired by RSS chief Mohanrao Bhagwat in an interview to TOI on Tuesday on dissension wracking the party.
In his interview, Bhagwat had disapproved of the book. The BJP brass took the cue, rejecting suggestions for milder punishment including removal from the parliamentary board and dispensing with the usual practice of issuing a showcause notice. But Jaswant seems unlikely to fade quietly. He abandoned his resigned note, attacking Advani, accusing BJP of being power drunk and speaking of the poison of office .
