The adverse reporting were stopped in between and resumed when the extortion attempts failed, the chargesheet stated.

Delhi police filed a chargesheet in a Patiala House court on Wednesday against the trio on the charges of extortion (Section 384, IPC), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating) and 201 (destruction of evidence).
They allegedly attempted to extort a sum of 100 crore from JSPL in return for not reporting about the company in the coal block allocation scam. The adverse reporting were stopped in between and resumed when the extortion attempts failed, the chargesheet stated.
"From the transcripts of the recordings, it's evident that the intention of the accused persons was to extort money from the Jindal group and they were not interested in entering into any agreement with the complainant," it said.
"It's evident that the accused hatched a criminal conspiracy to target the company and extort money from them by putting the company in fear of injury by telecasting defamatory news and misinterpreting the CAG report and fabricating material contained in it," the chargesheet added.
