JIC Chairman term extended by one month

The Centre has extended the tenure of Chairman Joint Intelligence Committee, Ajit Lal, whose term ended yesterday, for a period of one month.

NEW DELHI: The Centre has extended the tenure of Chairman Joint Intelligence Committee, Ajit Lal, whose term ended yesterday, for a period of one month.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of contract appointment of Ajit Lal, Chairman, Joint Intelligence Committee for a period of one month beyond June 30,2 014," a statement from ACC said.

Lal, a 1974-batch IPS officer, had served as Special Director, Intelligence Bureau, before being appointed as Chairman of JIC for three years on June 17, 2011.

His term had ended yesterday.
