Jharkhand People's Party declares bandh on Raghuvar Das's oath-taking day
JAMSHEDPUR: Describing the selection of a non-tribal chief minister in Jharkhand as an "anti-tribal" approach of BJP, Jharkhand People's Party ( JPP) today announced to observe a state-wide bandh on the day Raghuvar Das would take oath.

"A state-wide bandh would be observed on the oath-taking day, of Raghuvar Das, a non-tribal, presumably on 29 December," JPP President Surya Singh Besra said here today.

A separate Jharkhand state was formed on the birthday of tribal martyr Birsa Munda on November 15 with the sole motive to fulfil the aspirations of tribal community but BJP have dishonoured the community by declaring a non-tribal CM for the first time after the state was formed in 2000, Besra said.

He said tribals will not tolerate such approach of BJP and appealed to all the tribal, political and apolitical organisations including JMM and JVM-P to actively support the bandh to foil BJP's nefarious design.
