JAMSHEDPUR: Jharkhand Labour Minister K N Tripathy today said efforts were on to forge a "mahagatbandhan" (grand electoral alliance) for the forthcoming assembly election in Jharkhand unitedly against BJP.

Negotiation in this regard is on and all like-minded parties, barring BJP, are welcome in the alliance, Tripathy, who was in the steel city to take part in a departmental review meeting, told newsmen, while refusing to divulge further.

The objective of the mahagatbandhan was to ensure that the proposed alliance should win at least 60 to 65 seats in the coming poll, which was expected to take place in next couple of months, Tripathy told a press conference here.
