Jharkhand govt must quickly act on EC note: Congress
Delaying disclosure and action on the EC recommendation would cause issues of governance in the state besides giving BJP more time to 'poach on MLAs' of the ruling coalition, AICC general secretary for Jharkhand Avinash Pande

"My request to the governor of Jharkhand is that he should quickly make public the election commission's recommendation on the chief minister, and act on it, whatever it is, as per laws without any further delay. Our coalition government (JMM-Congress-RJD) is stable and enjoys a clear majority in the state assembly," Pande told ET over phone from Raipur even as a delegation of the Jharkhand ruling coalition met the governor in Ranchi
Pande objected to the 'silence' from Raj Bhavan: "The delay by the Raj Bhavan in making public the EC recommendation and acting on it has already caused many serious issues. Due to the unnecessary speculation caused by Raj Bhavan not disclosing or acting on the EC recommendation, the governance in Jharkhand is at a standstill, especially when the state faces many serious issues, including drought..."
