Jharkhand: CM Hemant Soren wins trust vote in Special Assembly Session as BJP staged walkout
Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren won the trust vote in the state assembly on Monday, a show of strength by the chief minister even as the decision of governor Ramesh Bais in the office of profit case related to Soren remained pending.

There were 48 votes in favour of the government in the 81-member assembly. With 29 MLAs of the JMM, 15 of the Congress, one each of RJD, CPI (ML) and NCP, and one independent voting in favour of the government. The BJP and its allies staged a walkout during the trust vote.

Speaking during the special session of the assembly, called for the trust vote, Soren accused the BJP of creating an atmosphere of uncertainty in the state.

"Uncertainty had been prevailing in the state since August 25 after the media reported that the EC had sent its recommendation to the governor. But the governor is still silent," said Soren. "A UPA delegation met him urging him to clear the air. He assured them there will be clarity in two-three days. Thereafter, he went to Delhi through the backdoor."
