Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das urges Centre to take steps for setting up an IIIT on PPP mode
RANCHI: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today urged Union HRD Minister Smriti Zubin Irani to initiate steps in setting up an IIIT on "public/private partnership (PPP)" for which only 15 acres of land remained to be acquired.

In his letter to the Union Minister, Das said the IIIT would play an important part in meeting the requirements of Digital India and the institute be initiated at the earliest, an official release said here.

Drawing attention to the August, 2014 announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for setting up an IIIT in Ranchi, Das said the state has not yet received a formal approval from the Centre despite the state government pursuing it, the release added.

Das also said land has been identified and process for acquiring the rest 15 acres was on.
