Jharkhand Chief Minister condoles Sister Nirmala's death


RANCHI: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today expressed grief at the demise of Sister Nirmala, who had succeeded Mother Teresa as the Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity in 1997.

"Sister Nirmala had spent her entire life serving the poor. Her death has left everyone grief-stricken," Das said in a statement here.

In his condolence message, former chief minister Arjun Munda expressed deep sorrow and said Sister Nirmala devoted her life in serving the poor.

The 81-year-old Sister Nirmal who was not keeping well for the past few days died in Kolkata this morning.
