JAIPUR: Jewellery traders have called a 1-day Rajasthan bandh on April 4 to press for their demand of withdrawal of excise duty imposed by the central government.

"We have been on strike for the last several days, but the government is ignoring us. So, we have called for a one-day bandh in Rajasthan on April 4," Kailash Mittal, representative of Sarafa traders, said today.

He made it clear that essential services have been exempted.

"We are in touch with other trader bodies to seek their support," he said.

The Sarafa traders have been on strike against the imposition of excise duty.
